Said he was my grandson and he just got into a car accident hitting a pregnant woman and he needs an attorney. Being that my grandsons are 6 and 1.5 years old, I played along for about 45 minutes texting and calling a friend and he gave us the name of the hospital and a description of the woman he hit. From there I told him everything was going to be alright, and the cops won't have a witness by tomorrow morning. I told him I'd do anything for him because he's my grandson. My friend called us back about 30 mins later and told us that after-hours they have a nurse on "The Family's" payroll. She was going to make it so the woman would "not make it." He insisted he needed money and I told him to wait for our driver at the Emergency room doors and he'll take care of it. I told him, "Remember when you got that girl pregnant?" He said yes and I explained she didn't make it through childbirth. I told him that was me that made that happen and the family has some secrets we need him to keep.

Caller purported to be my grandson in trouble and in need of bail money. He said he'd been in an auto accident and was injured, as well. He said his attorney would call me. I kept up the pretense to find out as much as I could. I knew it wasn't my grandson immediately. He did try to disguise himself by "crying." Someone claiming to be the attorney did call, but when I asked for more information, he realized I wasn't buying the scam, so he hung up.
