They pretend to be from a research institute. In reality they already have all your personal information like full name, address and social security number. This information was possibly obtained by hacking some bank or company database. The real objective of this call is to make you say "YES" during the conversation. Since they are recording the call they will be able use your own words to look like you signed some binding contract through the phone. If you receive a phone call from this number you should report to local police authorities and your bank IMMEDIATELY.

Une femme demande à parler au gérant en parlant un anglais difficilement compréhensible, dit qu'elle appelle des USA, qu'elle travaille à Universal News, je lui demande la raison de son appel "private business", je lui dit que je suis l'assistant du gérant et que j'aimerai savoir la raison de son appel, elle me dit qu'elle n'a rien à vendre, je lui redemande (gentiment) pourquoi elle appelle : elle me raccroche au nez. J'attends son prochain appel pour lui expliquer la vie.
