This is the voicemail that was left on my phone today, in its entirety: "This is the payment options it's currently Tuesday February 18 and the reason for my call is that we're never able to reach you earlier to complete the application and if we cannot do so we will have to just close it out so please give us a call back soon and let us know how you'd like to proceed. Even if you don't wanna pursue it further no problem just let us know so we can stop the calls. You can reach us at 888-231-7089 until 6:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. I'm not available when you call go ahead and speak with any of the other counselors in the office and they can help you out just the same so thanks and have a great day." I've never known any professional to say 'let us know so we can stop the calls'. This whole thing is ridiculous and I refuse to call them back because I know it wouldn't be a smart thing to do! So, beware!

I got two phone calls in a row, one from (626)877-9331 (CA) and another from (316)677-8654 (KS). Both hung up almost immediately after dialing, but left a voicemail with the callback number of (888)231-7089, stating that they were unable to reach me regarding an application, and they would have to close it out. They asked for me to call them by 6PM Pacific Standard Time regardless of if I want to keep my imaginary application open or not...

A recording designed to sound like a real person requesting you call back "about a loan." They called twice in 2 days and since I have not taken out a loan with them or anyone else, this is obviously a scam. Recording asked for a call back to "stop the calls."

I got this call today and the spooky thing is that I did make a change to my student loan the day prior. The caller gave no information about what company they were calling for bit said that I needed to call them back because they were unable to complete my application for loan forgivness or lower payments. I know for a fact I completed my actual application the day prior with a Navient representative so this is definitely a scam. Be careful folks.

Same as the other comments. I got 2 back to back calls one from Kansas and the other from Massachusetts. I immediately blocked those calls. Then a minute later I get a voicemail about this student loan option. How do they get our cell phone numbers??
